Learn to Skate

CanSkate Information

CanSkate

CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. In CanSkate, skaters learn basic skills to prepare them for any ice skating sport or recreational skating.
Rising STAR Information

Rising STAR

STARSkate stands for Skills, Tests, Achievement and Recognition. STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating.
Adult and Teen Skate Information

Adult & Teen Skate

The Teen/Adult Learn to Skate program is designed to teach teens and adults of all ages basic skating skills or to improve upon skills that have been learned in the past. A fun program which enhances a healthy and active lifestyle.
CanPower Information

CanPower

CanPowerSkate and Edgeworks are action-packed, high energy instructional skating programs geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focus on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Both programs are taught by nationally-certified coaches.

Figure Skating

STARSkate Information

STARSkate

STARSkate stands for Skills, Tests, Achievement and Recognition. Once a skater has completed Level 5 of the CanSkate program, the skater can consider STARSkate. The STARSkate program offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating.
Competitive Skate Information

CompetitiveSkate

CompetitiveSkate is a program for skaters who show potential as competitive skaters. In order to compete in this stream, skaters are required to achieve at a specific level. Coaches will advise if this is an appropriate option for a skater.
Synchronized Skating Information

Synchronized Skating

Synchronized skating, or “synchro”, is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers.
