
NSC Annual Priorities
Strategic
Priorities (from
10 yearplan)
- Create
a strong TEAM NEPEAN founded on the values of espirit de corps,
sportsmanship and respect.
- Provide
our skaters with the best possible facilities and programs to realize their
individual potentials and dreams.
- Provide
a safe, progressive, adaptive and balanced off and on ice program that
develops each skater as a complete athlete.
- Provide
a strong and progressive learn to skate program that teaches fundamental
skating skills to support active participation in any skating related sport
or activity within our community.
- Provide
a comprehensive Talent Identification Program to support skater development
and success at any level.
- Foster
a knowledgeable and well-informed NSC community having ample opportunities
to participate in developing our athletes.
- Create
an environment that provides for the continuing development of coaches and
evaluators at all levels
Two Year Priorities
(starting 2003-2004)
- Establish
a Program Coordinators team to commence working towards the longer-term
objective of achieving an integrated coaching team
- Continue
efforts to build pairs program at the introductory and competitive levels
with the aim of establishing Nepean as a Pairs Centre of Excellence. Attract
an additional top pairs coach
- Prepare
for the next generation of senior/competitive skaters
- Work
with City to address ice allocation and cost issues in order to progress
skating programs and limit financial burden on our membership
- Develop
an awareness package and expand communications program to improve the Club's
visibility within the community
- Promote
Recreational Program to further demonstrate Nepean as a community focused
Club and serve as a feeder to Senior Program
- Improve
Club administrative and management practices in order to be as efficient and
cost-effective as possible
- Revisit
10-year plan and establish priorities for 2005-2008 based on the progress
made during 2003 and 2004 and other influencing factors
